Today I’m delighted to be taking part in the blog tour for The Final Twist by Jeffery Deaver.
The gripping new thriller from the #1 Sunday Times bestseller Jeffery Deaver and the final book in the Colter Shaw series.
Unique Investigator Colter Shaw is searching for the answer to his father’s final, posthumous riddle. It will lead him to evidence that will topple the secretive espionage company, BlackBridge.
He believes BlackBridge to be responsible for his father’s murder and brother’s disappearance. They can outmanoeuvre anyone, as the long trail of bodies behind them can confirm. But they haven’t yet met Colter Shaw.
Don’t slip up.
This time the stakes are huge – the fate of a nation is in Colter’s hands. He must find the solution as to why his father died – but to do that he needs to stay alive…
This is the first time I have read Jeffery Deaver. I’ve heard all the hype and seen the film of The Bone Collector but have not until now read any of his books. Peter James is quoted as saying ‘Terrific writing, vivid and raw, Deaver grips from the very first line and never lets up. He is, hands-down, one of the finest thriller writers of our time’. And I have to say he had me right from the start. Thriller is the word. Deadly adversaries aplenty, this was chock full of them and I wondered how Colter Shaw survived a number of times. It sucked me in like a full throttle action movie and I can certainly see why Deaver has such a massive following. Occasionally I felt that I had missed something by not reading the previous novels in the series but Deaver does a great job of filling in the blanks and it didn’t spoil my enjoyment one bit.
Fans will be delighted to know there is another Lincoln Rhyme thriller due in November and one thing for sure is that Deaver still has a whole heap of energy and will continue to keep us on the edge of our seat for quite sometime to come.
Thank you to Anne Cater for inviting me to take part in this blog tour and to the team at HarperCollins for my review copy. Now, I think I need to go lie down in a dark room for a while.
