Emily Knight: I Am …Becoming by A. Bello

Today on Tales I’m delighted to be going a little teen on the blog tour for Emily Knight: I Am…Becoming – book 3 in the best-selling, award-winning, CILIP Carnegie Medal nominated fantasy series by A. Bello.

Synopsis

Homecoming. Sacrifice. Family. Fire.

The Knights are finally reunited and ready to defeat Neci once and for all. But Neci is one step ahead and is targeting them one by one. When one of Emily’s best friends is kidnapped, Emily leads the elite team on a rescue mission but nothing can prepare them for what Neci has planned.

The eagerly anticipated third book follows the incredible success of Emily Knight I am… Awakened, which received a prestigious Carnegie nomination and enjoyed first place in the London’s BIG Read 2019.

Emily Knight: I Am… Becoming by A. Bello is available on ebook and in paperback.

My thoughts

Okay, so firstly I have to admit that this is the first book I have read in the series but that didn’t impact my enjoyment one little bit, no siree . It is brillaint to see strong, diverse characters emerging in more and more books. As a Librarian, this is what we are looking for, characters that all young people in this beautiful diverse world we live in can relate to. But what I loved about this book is that there are elements that will touch every teen who reads it, Emily is strong but she shows her fear, we see her grappling with difficult situations, situations that perhaps she shouldn’t have to. She is an inspiration. These are all important elements but on a less serious note this is an adventure story ram-packed with action, awesome battles and of course the everyday problems we all suffer, such as family and friendship issues, except Emily Knight style.

This is a really exciting book and I look forward to catching up on the first two in the series.

Thank you so much to Helen at @literallypr  for inviting me to take part in the blog tour and for also sending me a copy in exchange for an honest review.
